Introduction

The Ministry of Aviation is one of the ten Federal Ministries under the Imperial Chancellery. Headed by the Aviation Minister, the ministry is responsible for overseeing a diverse range of critical aviation functions. It manages the development, production, and maintenance of both military and civil aircraft, ensuring the nation’s aerial capabilities are modern and effective. In addition to aircraft production, the ministry plays a key role in advancing aviation research, airspace regulation, and strategic partnerships with aerospace contractors. These efforts ensure that the nation’s aviation infrastructure and defense readiness remain robust, supporting both immediate operational needs and long-term technological advancements in aviation.

Organization of the Ministry

Currently, the ministry is organized into 2 main offices:

  • The Research Office

Commonly, the Chief of the Luftwaffe is usually the one appointed minister with the support of the Minister of War.
