Office of the District Attorney

The District Attorney (German: Bezirksstaatsanwalt ) of the Capital of the Protectorate is the chief prosecutor of the City of New York. They are appointed by nomination of the Police Commissioner and confirmation by the Governor of New York. The District Attorney has complete oversight over all prosecutors within the City of New York and can compel any civil policing authority to investigate any criminal offenses within the Protectorate.

History

In 1948, the newly formed Congress of the Imperial American Protectorate, under the stewardship of the Lord Protector, signed the New York Home Rule Act, which established the New York City Council and created the position of District Attorney.

Responsibilities of the District Attorney

- A member of the New York City Council

- Chief Prosecutor of New York City, the Capital of the Protectorate

- Oversight of all prosecutors within the Capital of the Protectorate

- Authorized to compel investigation by the National Security Bureau, American Bureau of Investigation, or New York Police Department
