Office of the Director of the American Bureau of Investigation
The Director (German: Direktor) of the American Bureau of Investigation (ABI) is the highest-ranking officer of the ABI. Appointed by the Governor of New York, the Director oversees all federal law enforcement and criminal investigations within the Protectorate.
History
In 1948, the Congress of the Imperial American Protectorate passed the Act for the Establishment of the American Bureau of Investigation, creating the office of the Director. The ABI would act as Law enforcement officers who are directly subservient to the Governor of New York, with a mission to secure and protect the Protectorate.
Duties and Powers of the Director
- A member of the New York City Council
- May appoint officials to detect, investigate, and prosecute crimes against the Protectorate
- All agents of the ABI have qualified Immunity. The decisions of the Director are not subject to review by the civil courts.
- May employ Questioning Orders on citizens of the Protectorate for full cooperation with any pending investigation.
- May requsition personnel of the local municipal police forces for investigations or enforcement, however it is subject to appeal by the Governor of New York
Conclusion
The Director of the ABI is tasked with investigating and prosecuting crimes within the Protectorate. They take orders directly from the Governor of New York whilst fighting for powers against the National Security Bureau.
