The District Attorney (German: ''Bezirksstaatsanwalt '') of the Capital of the Protectorate is the chief prosecutor of the City of New York. They are appointed by nomination of the [[Commissioner of the New York Police Department|Police Commissioner]] and confirmation by the [[Governor of New York]]. The District Attorney has complete oversight over all prosecutors within the City of New York and can compel any civil policing authority to investigate any criminal offenses within the Protectorate.<br />
